The Heavy Lifting

The Heavy Lifting is the part of the move where one of us gets a job in Iowa. And, I am quoting the husband here, who said he WILL do that. MY job is to get everyone and everything settled smoothly. I believe I stepped up to take on too much, but at least I'm not job-hunting! And, now that you mention it, I'm not even working! I suppose we were a little ambitious about this whole move thing. January will do that to you. New Year, New things, New snow (at least in Chicago most years). . .New STATE!! When I started this blog, I thought that by now you'd be given the most intimate details about how much it stinks to move out of state with 2 little kids, a dog, and a husband who golfs. But, March and April got the better of us and momentum took a stall. Or at least, the momentum for starting the job search. March seemd SOOOO far away from May or June. It was SOOO cold then. . . But, now it IS May and panic has set in; albeit panic that we created ourselves. I quit "that" job(thus the not working part). Hated it anyway. Wasn't planning to pack it up and take it with me. So, there's just a teeny bit of urgency now. And, we wait. Well, we send resumes, we make phone calls, go on interviews, and then wait (or D does all that, me? I wait - can't pack 'til we're ready to move!) ! Not sure what we'll do if no decent job materializes before the end of May. Perhaps that when the true heavy lifting will begin!
